Pfew! After reading through all the above posts I feel I have to present my views too, even if this topic probably just would be better off getting some rest. 
I'm 100% confident in TornSoul and BIG not trying to scam the community but instead just wants to try to boost the lottery a bit for the upcoming rounds.
I'm also quite sure that the reason to boost the lottery is not to make it possible for BIG to earn large sums of isk, but instead to make the lottery event a better event.
But (this is a BIG BUT), as many has pointed out, splitting the pot over several different rounds, without letting tickets be valid for all those rounds, are wrong. I will not repeat the arguments for this as those have been specified several times above.
The arguments might just be boring math for some, but even if you consider them boring it does not make them any less true.
Others have raised voices about that they think the whole discussion is based on greed, that it does not matter if you win 1B, 2B or most likely 0B. I don't think this a valid point though. Of course there is a little bit of greed in us all, why are we gambling otherwise? But however slim your chances of winning are we are many that feel that the fairness of the lottery has suffered.
We all try to enjoy this game in our own ways. BIG is doing a tremendous job at trying to provide some extra entertainment for the community. I'm glad this got acknowledged by CCP and it's thrilling to see the effect this had on the lottery. However, I really think BIG should sit down together and discuss this issue throughly. Please objectively and calmly consider both sides arguments and just ignore all bashing and flaming.
This is such an important matter that I really hope you take the time to do this.
Don't be afraid of losing face if you by any chance would change your opinion. Sometimes you save your face by losing it.
